I realize that if you're just tuning in you probably don't know what's going on here! So I thought I'd give you a little recap.
In my high school days I was incredibly active in the Kennesaw Mountain High School Theater Department (11 shows!) and that became my home. For years the department consisted of the Trinity: Mrs. Debbie Walker, Cobb County's High School Teacher of the Year Coy Dunn and Mr. Edward Deavers. On February 12th of my Junior year, we got hit with the news that our beloved theatre teacher, director, mentor and friend Edward Deavers passed away of a massive heart attack in his home.
While the community, students and alumni grieved, none were hit as hard as his beloved mother, Mrs. Dorothy Deavers, who shared a home with him and was his best friend. I vowed that this year I would make her an invaluable part of my life. Knowing her has blessed me in ways I cannot even begin to describe! She is such a gift to me.
I've been calling her as often as I can, because she lives pretty far away, but lately I've been able to visit about twice a month! The ladies below (the self-proclaimed "Most Interesting Women in the World") have gone to see movies, gone out to eat and spent amazing quality time with each other. Three generations are represented here, and yes... I love hanging out with them!

If you know Mrs. Deavers, I encourage you to give her a call or plan a visit. If you need her information send me an email. She would love to hear from you or spend some time with you. Also, if you would like to donate to the Edward Deavers Memorial Scholarship fund let me know through email and I will get you in touch with the right people.
If you see a need in your own life, do what you can when you can to fill it.
If that means making time for a phonecall, a letter, an anonymous act of kindness, a donation, a visit, just do it. What've you got to lose?
And trust me, you have a whole lot to gain.
Goodnight,
~ Anna
As a student of Ed's from 1983 - 1988, your "Questions? Comments? Editorials?" after your welcome paragraph made me smile.
