February Goals: Meh... just survive Valentine's Day

This month is going to be dedicated to getting the new blog up and running! So excited! I also will be going up to Washington D.C. to visit family over President's Day Weekend. We'll be going to Mt. Vernon. I haven't been there since I was a kid. See?

Major points to whoever can find me in this picture!

January Goals: Recap

I have been really horrible about posting lately, yet in my defense, my house is getting its floors redone so I have not been in my normal surroundings since Tuesday. You know how that is.

Anyhoo, I have some exciting news about the month of January...

Remember what I wanted to accomplish?

January was my most successful month to date

The red goals are what I did not do at all, but the lighter color are the goals that I have made considerable progress with and I did not just want to count them out. So I counted them for half!

Maybe it's because I am so gung ho about New Year's resolutions, starting fresh, all that jazz, or maybe I just decided to get things done. Either way, it feels good to really accomplish a lot!

I don't know what the purpose of this blog really is anymore. I feel kind of vain just talking about my life, but I guess that does make sense because I just want my friends and family to know what I'm doing with this year. But if there is anything I hope you take away from my novice little Mind the Gap blog is that we all talk a big game about "living our dreams" but it is so rewarding when you actually start seeing your progress. Living one small step at a time, one goal crossed off a list at a time, one dream at a time.  Or maybe you aren't a list maker like me; maybe you have always had that one thing in the back of your mind that you want to do. Somewhere in your mind or your soul or your heart or your gut you have always wanted to do something or be someone.

Just do it. No Excuses. Carpe Diem.

But really, just do it

Sometimes

Things don't go according to plan.

You plan on being productive on your days off: assembling furniture, finishing your art studio and ordering t shirts, painting, working on blog layouts and exercising, hanging out with friends you dearly miss...

And all of a sudden, out of nowhere

You are flat on your back, passed out sick, literally lying for hours on the bathroom floor because you are too weak to move. That's been my life since Sunday night. I seem to be on the mend though, meaning I can sit up and type this.

But when that happens, you have to tell the perfectionist and Type A in you to be still and look sickness in the face and say a great big ol'

And go back to sleep. And deal with it another day.

College.

Best advice I've heard in a long time.

Going to the dream school in Richmond probably won't may not happen. But for right now, I'm just trusting and making the best of everything. If I end up staying in Kennesaw, I'm going to deal with it.
